The product was shown for the first time at the Milan Fair in 2001, where it attracted great attention. Among other honors, it was chosen as "Hardware product of the year" by the American architecture magazine Architectural Record. The attention has led to around 1,000 people from some 40 countries contacting Brighthandle for more information about the product.

- ASSA ABLOY sees great potential in Brighthandle. Partly from a design perspective, where Brighthandle can add an interesting dimension to ASSA ABLOY's group companies. But also from a safety dimension, as future versions of Brighthandle's concept can serve an important function in the development of emergency exit hardware for hotels, offices, and other public buildings, says Åke Sund, responsible for Market and Business Development at ASSA ABLOY.

Brighthandle has sold the communicative door handles to selected hotels, restaurants, and offices. Installations can be found, among other places, in Sturecompagniet's much-talked-about women's restroom, Benny Andersson's design hotel Rival, and OM's new headquarters in Värtahamnen.

- The collaboration with ASSA ABLOY runs very smoothly, and we have quickly started product development and distribution projects for the Swedish, US, and Hotel segment markets. This is a perfect combination of the small company's dynamism and the large company's resources and expertise in development, production, and distribution, says Fredrik Arnander, one of Brighthandle's founders.

Produkten visades för första gången på Milanomässan 2001 där den väckte stor uppmärksamhet. Bland annat blev den vald till "Hardware product of the year" i amerikanska arkitekttidningen Architectural Record. Uppmärksamheten har lett till att omkring 1 000 personer från 40-talet länder har hört av sig till Brighthandle för att få mer information om produkten.

- ASSA ABLOY ser en stor potential i Brighthandle. Dels utifrån ett designperspektiv där Brighthandle kan tillföra en intressant dimension till ASSA ABLOYs koncernbolag. Men även utifrån en säkerhetsdimension eftersom framtida versioner av Brighthandles koncept kan fylla en viktig funktion i utvecklingen av utrymningsbeslag för hotell, kontor och andra offentliga byggnader, säger Åke Sund, ansvarig för Market and Business Development i ASSA ABLOY.

Brighthandle har sålt de kommunikativa dörrhandtagen till utvalda hotell, restauranger och kontor. Installationer återfinns bland annat på Sturecompagniets omtalade damtoalett, Benny Anderssons design hotell Rival och OMs nya huvudkontor i Värtahamnen.

- Samarbetet med ASSA ABLOY fungerar mycket smidigt, och vi har snabbt startat produktutveckling och distributionsprojekt för marknaderna Sverige, USA och Hotellsegmentet.
