Lighting Design

Light has been one of the recurring themes in Alexander Lervik’s work.

Lighting Design

His lighting projects range from industrially produced lamps to experimental installations and collectible objects in which light becomes both function and material.

Growing up and working in Scandinavia, where darkness defines much of the year, has made light both a practical and an emotional material. Projects investigate how light can change an object, a room or a situation — often appearing where it is least expected: inside a door handle, in a hospital corridor, in glass, or in a scan of the designer’s own brain.

The studio works with decorative and architectural light for manufacturers, with light art for public buildings, and with collectible lighting for galleries and collectors.
