Furniture Design

Furniture has been a central part of Alexander Lervik’s practice since the beginning of his career.

Furniture Design

His work ranges from industrially produced seating and tables to experimental and limited-edition furniture, combining Scandinavian functional traditions with conceptual thinking.

Chairs recur throughout the practice as a way of testing an idea at full scale: a chair has to carry a body, a production method and a thought at the same time. Alongside seating, the studio develops tables, sofas and storage for Scandinavian manufacturers, as well as one-off and limited-edition furniture where material and construction can be pushed further.

The same designer moves between both worlds. Industrial production sharpens the discipline of the collectible work; the experimental pieces feed new solutions back into products made in the thousands.
