“I was listening to Edith Piaf as I sketched the armchair, and thinking I wanted it to be amazingly comfortable so the sitter would sink in and drift off into their own thoughts, just as I have a habit of doing. I wanted the armchair to be a statement piece, but with a light and airy design.

Alexander Lervik is a Swedish designer whose work spans furniture, lighting, product design and collectible design. His practice combines function, storytelling, technology and conceptual experimentation, moving between industrial production, limited-edition objects and design art. He trained at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm and runs his studio in Österlen in the south of Sweden.
