Does this fit together? Yes, but you don't believe it at first: 'Lounge' is a full-fledged armchair on a delicate four-legged tubular steel base with a short, rotating central column.

The horizontal cross-stiffening of the base is structurally and visually necessary, and here the designer has defined the cross-section of the profiles with a sure hand. High-gloss chrome plating or silver-coloured lacquer are the two intended frame colours. The manufacturer remains silent about the structure of the armchair body and merely refers to the flame-retardant polyether foam. The armchair, U-shaped in plan with a fitted seat cushion, measures 62 x 68 cm, is 75 cm high and weighs just 15 kilograms. Once you have taken a seat, rested your arms on the edges of the shell and stretched out your legs, you want to stay seated — not only during the fair.

B Ob das zusammenpasst? Ja, aber man glaubt es zunächst nicht: ‘Lounge' ist ein voliwertiger Sessel auf einem zierlichen VierfuBgestell aus Stahlrohr mit kurzer, drehbarer Mittelsäule.

Die waagrechte Kreuzaussteifung des Gestells ist konstruktiv und op- tisch notwendig, und der Designer hat hier mit sicherer Hand den Quer- schnitt der Profile bestimmt. Hoch- glanzverchromung oder silberfarbe- ner Lack sind die beiden vorgesehe- nen Gestellfarben. Uber die Struktur des Sesselkorpus' schweigt sich der Hersteller aus und verweist nur auf den schwerentflammbaren Poly- etherschaum. Der im Grundriss U-férmige Sessel mit eingepasstem Sitzkissen misst 62 x 68 cm, ist 75 cm hoch und wiegt lediglich 15 Kilo- gramm. Hat man erst einmal Platz genommen, die Arme auf die Scha- lenrandem gelegt und die Beine aus- gestreckt, so will man sitzen bleiben — nicht nur während der Messe.

B Cela va-t-il bien ensemble ? Oui, mais on ne le croit pas tout de suite : ‘Lounge" est un véritable fauteuil re- posant sur un fin piégtement tubulaire en acier å quatre branches avec une courte colonne centrale rotative.

Le croisillon horizontal pour le raidisse- ment du pigtement est nécessaire aussi bien pour des raisons inhérentes å la construction que du point de vue esthetique et le designer a défini ici avec assurance le diamétre des pro- files. Le pigtement est offert chrome brillant ou laqué argenté. Le fabricant ne fournit pas d'informations sur la structure du corps du fauteuil et il se contente de mentionner la mousse polyéther difficilement inflammable. Le fauteuil en forme de U est équipé d'un coussinage emboité, mesure 62 x 68 CM, a une hauteur de 75 cm et ne pése que 15 kilos. Quand on yapris Pplace, qu’on a posé les bras sur les bords de la coque et qu'on a étendu les jambes, on veut rester assis — pas Seulement pendant le Salon.
