Magical exhibition by Dahlgren and Lervik

The background to this unique collaboration is that Stefan Nilsson from Designgalleriet asked Alexander Lervik to create an exhibition together with another creator. He pondered for a while about who would become his collaborator and by chance heard a song by Eva Dahlgren. He wrote her a letter, put it in the mailbox, and immediately regretted it. But a week later he received a reply, and the collaboration became a fact.

The exhibition contains an entire orchestra of glass objects that will light up in time with the music and take on a life of their own. According to Lervik, the goal has always been to create an experience that fills all the senses and lets the visitor experience more.

In the first room we meet the singer, a beautiful piece inside a glass sphere. The sound shower in the ceiling instantly calms the pulse and one becomes completely relaxed. In the next room we encounter the bass of the orchestra. It is like a swarm of small glass mushrooms emerging from the underground, while the music streams from the speakers in the ceiling. The violins fill the next room and are incredibly beautiful and lush. The drums are like a whole little orchestra that brings us to life with their colors and interplay. Then we come to the last room and the synth, where we see how sound lives in interplay with light. Incredibly powerful, relaxing and fascinating!

The objects are handmade in freehand together with skilled glass craftsmen from Målerås glassworks in Småland, one of the few remaining glassworks in Sweden. For the exhibition, Dahlgren and Lervik have also specially designed hand-tufted rugs in collaboration with Swedish Ogeborg. The rugs and their design enhance the feeling of the various glass objects and refine the sound experience in the gallery. Sound and light specialists from the sound architect Lexter and the lighting company Stockholm Lightning are also involved in the project to maximize the experience. Eva Dahlgren has specially composed the music, which has been woven together with verses from her song Filmen om oss.

Magisk utställning av Dahlgren och Lervik

Bakgrunden till det unika samarbetet är att Stefan Nilsson från Designgalleriet bad Alexander Lervik att skapa en utställning ihop med någon annan kreatör. Han funderade ett tag på vem som skulle bli hans samarbetspartner och hörde av en slump en låt av och med Eva Dahlgren. Han skrev ett brev till henne, la det på brevlådan och ångrade sig direkt. Men en vecka senare fick han svar och samarbetet var ett faktum.

Utställningen innehåller en hel orkester av glasföremål som ska lysa upp i takt med musiken och få eget liv. Målet har, enligt Lervik, hela tiden varit att skapa en upplevelse där alla sinnen fylls och att besökaren ska uppleva mer.

I första rummet möter vi sångerskan som är en vacker pjäs inuti en glaskula. Ljudduschen i taket lugnar genast ner pulsen och man blir helt avslappnad. I nästa rum möts vi av basen i orkestern. Det är som en myr av små glassvampar som dyker upp ur underjorden, samtidigt som musiken strömmar ur högtalarna i taket. Violinerna fyller upp nästa rum och är så otroligt vackra och läckra. Trummorna är som en hel liten orkester som väcker liv i oss med sina färger och samspel. Så kommer vi till sista rummet och synten, där vi ser hur ljudet lever i samspel med ljuset. Otroligt effektfullt, avslappnande och fascinerande!

Föremålen är tillverkade på fri hand tillsammans med skickliga glashantverkare från Målerås glasbruk i Småland, ett av de få kvarvarande glasbruken i Sverige. Till utställningen har Dahlgren och Lervik även specialdesignat handtuftade mattor i ett samarbete med svenska Ogeborg. Mattorna och dess design förstärker känslan i de olika glasobjekten och förfinar ljudupplevelsen i galleriet. Även ljud-och ljusspecialister från ljudarkitekten Lexter och ljusföretaget Stockholm Lightning finns med i projektet för att maximera upplevelsen. Eva Dahlgren har specialkomponerat musiken som arbetats samman med verser från hennes låt Filmen om oss.
