Many people have a love-hate relationship with yellow brick houses. Me, for instance. But I think both turn-of-the-century romantics and Norra tornen devotees will be converted after a visit to Elin and Alexander Lervik. In any case, I have visited and completely changed my mind, enjoy the read!

You have probably seen Villa Lervik pop up on Instagram at some point. There, Elin Lervik has diligently documented the family's renovation journey; from a worn-down single-story catalogue house with a basement to a charming split-level house with room for a large blended family and various animals. With Alexander Lervik's background as a designer, they have also created many custom solutions in the home, such as a molded staircase, a functional elevator, and custom-designed windows. Nothing has been left to chance here.

Ever heard of Alexandra Karpilovski? She is a Ukrainian-born artist, raised in Sweden, who creates everything from sculptures and installations to text and painting. Above the pink armchair, Ratio armchair, in the living room hung a painting signed by her.

In the bedroom, the couple opened up to the roof ridge and installed large panoramic windows to bring in the forest behind the house. Cozy and airy. A practical detail I noted was that they hid a laundry chute under a stylish stool. Just lift the lid and drop the dirty clothes down to the laundry room on the floor below.

There was a good deal of furnishings from Svenskt Tenn in the couple's home. Not surprising, as Elin is the PR director there. In August, the company launched a whole series of pleated lampshades, where my favorite is the yellow one.

Zero previous experience was nothing that stopped Elin's gardening dreams. She has sown over 600 plants, and the result is magical: several cozy "rooms" in the garden with sculptures, a brick fireplace, catmint, and parasols. She says the fireplace is the best thing about the entire house.

New gallery: Next week, Saskia Neuman Gallery opens, where the inaugural exhibition presents Swedish-American artist Tobias Bradford. It will be exciting to see what happens here this autumn. Wool blanket: During Formex, which took place this week, a range of novelties was presented as usual. I think this orange blanket, released by Fine Little Day in collaboration with Sofia Lind, was lovely. Time for after-work: I don't want to hear another word about summer being over. I will sit outdoors at the city's rooftop bars until October – at least. Here, Vogue Scandinavia has listed a bunch of suggestions where one can enjoy great design, good drinks, and magnificent views.

Here comes my final hello for this year – filled with fossil patterns, edible and drinkable gifts, and a flock of flower power birds. From me to you: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Adorable Advent children and big-headed lions are just a few examples of what can be found in ceramic queen Lisa Larson's great chest of design classics. What many do not know is that in the late 1960s she packed her bags and moved to California with her family to study.

Here, Lisa was thrown into the colors, forms, and expressions of the flower power movement, which resulted in a colorful flock of wooden birds. The spotted, floral, and striped birds have been unknown until now – at the beginning of next year, the Birds 1967 series will be sold at Design House Stockholm for 995 SEK each.

Hans J. Wegner is one of Denmark's most prolific designers. This year, the spotlight is on his Shell Chair CH07, which turns 60. The piece of furniture, with its beautifully wing-shaped seat, was shown for the first time in 1963 at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Autumn Exhibition and was then considered groundbreaking in its forms. The birthday is celebrated with an anniversary edition priced at 37,960 SEK, sold through New Year's.

A few weeks ago, I visited the home of Katarina Matsson in Skönstaholm's "weekday area." In the personally decorated 1950s house, there is everything from murals to hand-sewn drapes and disco balls. Hope you like the home as much as I did!

Are you familiar with Skönstaholm's "weekday area"? I had never heard of it before visiting journalist Katarina Matsson. It is fascinating how the architects thought about the appearance and placement of the houses, and great to hear that there is such strong local pride among the neighbors.

All the terraced and row houses in the weekday area were built between 1949 and 1952 and are today classified green, meaning they have high cultural-historical value. If you make a trip there to see the area, I think you should also take an extra look at the charming paths and green spaces between the houses, also carefully planned by landscape architects.

Around the curtain rod in the living room, a wax plant winds, beautifully framing the window. On the rod, Katarina has also hung a large disco ball that casts fine reflections across the walls. A simple and fun way to make a room more playful and vibrant.
