AMELIA WIDELL

”A home turns out best when every item is chosen with love. Right now I love the design companies' craze for 70s shapes and 90s colors. An unholy but oh so lovely alliance!”

Designer and new blogger at ameliawidell.elledecoration.se ”This spring we let strong colors take center stage! Velvet in jewel tones is mixed with mohair, and at the interior design fair Maison et Object in Paris shaggy rugs were seen everywhere. Say goodbye to traditional style rules and mix wildly.”

2. Go green! Plant stand, design Sara Szyber, 1 975 kr, Designhouse Stockholm, and wall vase Drop, 69 kr, Lagerhaus. 3. The sofa gets deeper this year. Velvet sofa, 14 995 kr, Ikea Stockholm 2017.

1. In beautiful storage – leather box, 4 250 kr, Louis Vuitton.

2. Color explosion! I love that we are seeing increasingly vibrant accent colors right now, especially on textiles and glass which have long been very saturated. Mohair throw, 5 600 kr, Svenskt Tenn.

8. Complete the sofa group with a pouf like Poppy, from 6 980 kr, Fogia.

6. Mirror, mirror ... Brass-colored mirror cube, 3 499 kr/set of 2, Bloomingville. 7. Soap dispenser Rainbow, 179 kr, Lagerhaus.

4. A mirror is just as nice an element in a gallery wall as on its own, 1 699 kr, Aytm.

7. Multiple small tables make it easy to rearrange (which many do increasingly often). Table Tip Top, 2 150 kr, Kartell.

4. To say that the entire editorial team is obsessed with the new Céline store in Stockholm is the understatement of the day – and that has just as much to do with the fantastic interior design (the floor!) as with the clothes. 5. The DIY trend persists, but even the clumsy can create a personal feeling with the right details. Wall hanging, 874 kr, Broste Copenhagen.

3. We leave the minimalist behind and move towards cozier homes where we hang curtains, fill the walls with art, dress the beds with an upholstered headboard, and cover the floors with shaggy rugs. In January it won Rug of the Year at the ELLE Decoration Swedish Design Awards, Citizen, 180x240 cm, 35 000 kr, Linum.

5. It's the details that make the whole – brass light switch, 309 kr, Switch Box. 6. Of course I have to recommend my new sofa. It is a completely new model inspired by the 60s and 70s. When it comes to furniture we no longer just take the safe route – now we go for it and let them make a statement! Sofa Dahlia, 19 900 kr, Melimeli.

1. Spring's marble is brown. Lamp Eight over eight, 6 399 kr, Louise Roe.

8. The 90s is making a color comeback with rich shades of yellow. I am – believe it or not – ready! (Though the sponge-painted walls will have to wait a few more seasons …) Cushion, 565 kr, Ferm Living. Bedspread, 599 kr, H&M Home.

When spring winds whisper, we air out winter and give the home a well-needed refresh!

9. The fitness trend reaches new design heights! Sculpture or kettlebell – Kroppsbyggaren, designed by Mattias Stenberg, works as both, 8, 12, or 16 kg, from 999 kr, Tingest. Follow @ettrumtill on Instagram for more interior inspiration!

1. Chairs and neat armchairs with stretched leather over a wooden frame were seen in several places during the furniture fair – such as David Ericsson's Hedwig with a clever spot for a tea or coffee cup. From 14 000 kr, Gärsnäs. 2. Pink hearts rust! Pendant lamp in mouth-blown glass Collar, design Sebastian Herkner, from 3 495 kr, Gubi, and shelf Pythagoras, design Gustav Rosén, 810 kr, Maze Interior. 6

Really deep sofas are a clear trend this year. They are available in various price ranges, where one of the more exclusive is Luca Nichetto's elegant Jord for Fogia. Price approx. 54 000 kr.

5. Stylist guru Lotta Agaton's trend exhibition at the fair breathed 70s with subdued tones and velvet – a material that still dominates. 6. Exciting play of color, preferably with a touch of the 1970s. Sebastian Harkner's new vases come in sets of two. When put together, a third color is created, which gave the series its name: Tricolore, 3 699 kr/set of 2, &Tradition.

7. Decorative small lamps are on the rise – beautifully designed with exciting details despite their limited size, as in the lighting series Ray, design Peder Jessen, from 1 100 kr, Mater. 8. Rattan and wicker are all the rage! Cabinet, design Nike Karlsson, 3 495 kr, Ikea Stockholm 2017. 9. I like furniture with geometric shapes, like the triangular bar cart Move with a handle wrapped in Tärnsjö leather and a marble base plate, 10 900 kr, A2.
